    Eric Descourtieux is the Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Trident Energy, an international oil and gas company focused on the acquisition, operation and optimisation of mid-life assets. He has over 25 years of experience in Senior Management and Finance positions, having held roles at operational and corporate level in three international companies. Prior to co-founding Trident Energy in 2016, Eric Descourtieux was the Chief Financial Officer of Perenco, a company in which he spent nearly twenty years in a number of roles. He began as a Finance Manager in the business’ Gabon subsidiary in 1997, and subsequently held the role of Finance Manager for Guatemala and then for Latin America. As Finance Manager for Latin America, he ran the finance department of Perenco’s four business units in the area. In 2005, Eric Descourtieux became Perenco’s General Manager for Venezuela and then for both Colombia and Venezuela, supervising operations in the countries, and overseeing business development and the company’s relationships with the local Regulatory Authorities and National Oil Companies. He was named Chief Financial Officer in September 2008. His responsibilities included overseeing the business’ Finance department, making decisions regarding corporate loans, treasury, risk management and accounting and tax. He was also in charge of Business Development, achieved through a mix of acquisitions and organic growth. Eric Descourtieux started his career as a Financial Analyst at Aérospatiale, an aerospace manufacturer which later became part of EADS and then Airbus Group, after graduating from the French Business School ESCP Europe in 1988 with a Master in Business Administration. He later became Manager of Industrial Accounting of the Eurocopter Business Unit, before joining the KFC division of PepsiCo in France as a Financial Controller. Eric Descourtieux is a visiting lecturer at ESCP Europe Business School and the IFP School the French Institute of Petroleum. He teaches M&A and Finance to students on both General Master and Executive Master programmes.
