Bowmer Bond Narrow Fabrics Ltd. is one of the largest weavers of narrow fabrics in Europe.
The tasks carried out during my work placement were as follow:
Communication with existing and potencial customer in Italy, utilising language abilities and sales skills:
 Providing customer service on the phone
 Prospecting new contacts
 Sending samples
 Writing out orders and loading them onto the system
 Invoicing
 Dealing with clients complaints

Logistic assignments:
 Working out and optimizing freight charges
 Booking transport for shipments abroad
 Checking out international freight invoices

Analysis of customer and product sales information to improve understanding of overall trends, analysis of the Italian market regarding the pet industry segment and curtain-side lorry trade.


Order Procedure:
 receive order by phone/fax/e-mail
 Complete order sheet
 Check stock
 Put in correct production tray or despatch date
 Acknowledge order

Shipping Procedures:
 Chasing production
 Packing notes
 Freight rates (check quotations)
 Booking shipments
 Completing despatch list
 Any extra documentation required


Invoicing:
 Checking correct currency sticker on invoices
 Checking freight is correct on invoices
 Sending to customers
 Filling copies with packing notes
 Checking and filing certificates of shipment

Sending samples to customers:
 preparing and labelling samples
 keeping records or samples sent
 methods or sending samples
