BNP Paribas is a European leader in global banking and financial services and one of the six strongest banks in the world. This internship was about managing a communication project by implementing business orientated tools within the IT bank messaging team.

* Identified opportunities to improve communication processes and their automation between business lines and IT teams. Conducted business units’ interviews and wrote the business requirements document. Improved the usage of underlying processes through the implementation of a case manager.

* Took charge as the central project head, providing regular updates to the business lines and IT teams. Held steering committee meetings in collaboration with other analysts providing insight and solutions to the customers, improving the Information System's efficiency.

* Created project plans: scheduling, risk mitigation and communications; following the CMMI project management model used in BNP Paribas IT teams. Produced a set of certified CMMI level 3 documents during the project.

EPI is a Junior Enterprise, a local non-profit organisation entirely managed by students. Related to their field of studies the students offer consulting services to the market; experiencing unique learning opportunities by doing professional project work.

* Co-ordinated a team of eight people for one year, organising on a regular basis general meetings to decide short and medium term policies to increase quality in project management, internal communication and contract finding. This led to significant improvements in internal processes by increasing their automation and overall usage.

* Created a new division dedicated to prospect new customers and improved external communication, increasing the number of contracts thus, the turnover by 50%.

Worked in the IT Research Department of the University on a project of wireless network operating in challenging environments with resource scarcity.

* Studied network coding theory and the programming language JAVA, resulting in the implementation of a wireless ad-hoc based network.
