My backgroung is mainly Geoscience, with a PhD in Geochemistry, then a post-doc in Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS for 2 years (1994/1996). Then I was a Geologist for 2 year in a small consultant company in Aberdeen (IAS Ltd), Scotland. With the oil "crisis" of '98, I was made redundant and I did move to IT with a position of System Engineer (SAIC Ltd) doing Geoscience Application Support for Major Oil companies. I was also involve in procurement, administration and project management. Then in 2000, I moved first to Reading to work for the client BG. In 2001 I moved to London to work as Project Assistant for the client BP Chemicals in Sunbury for a merge & acquisition deal.
Between 2002 & 2006, I did 4 year break in France away from the Oil & Gas industry. I have worked as a PA for 6 months. I was also a teacher in physics-chemistry and I did a one year MBA equivalent (IAE Montpellier).
I am doing the support for the Geosciences team.
I have to know most of the Geological and Geophysical application to be able to use the right data in between them. I did also work on Production Allocation. My main duty lately was to produce Maps and be able to use data accross various application. Main duty is also Data Management and cleaning databases.
As a technologist, I have also to find what is wrong in the data and the doucments and fix it.
By January 2010, I should change role and become a Data Analyst.
