Systems Thinking - lectures to MBA & MSc Students within the Business School

Steve Hart has 37 years experience of working in the telecommunications, IT and ICT industry. For the last 8 years Steve has worked supporting bids and delivery of transformational BPO deals, acting both as a solution architect and deal architect. He has worked at a senior level in both the Finance and Government sectors. His previous experience has been as a technician, telephone exchange engineer, data communications software specialist, network designer, customer engineer and technical director on major network outsourcing deals.
Steve’s current experience centres upon the design, development and delivery of complex programmes of IT/ICT related business change and transformational solutions, which have delivered significant benefits for clients and for BT. Steve’s leadership, relationship building skills and personal drive have enabled me to successfully manage diverse teams of skilled specialists. This experience extends to leading the Solutions Architects Practice, running Solution Architect teams and being part of if not leading transformation teams.
Steve’s most recent contribution to the Local Governments Major Bids team is the development of the Agility proposition. The proposition considered marketing, commercial, people, technology and process. Prior to that Steve completed business process projects for Winning Business +, Innovation and the BBC Digital TV Switchover Scheme.
Steve’s other Solution Architect’s contributions in addition to those above included:
• For Customer Service Direct – as the lead Solutions Architect - Services for Public Access, Finance (Cash Receipting) ITP Return on Investment Model, Workstyle and Mobility, and Shared Services for Revenues and Benefits, Finance and HR and ICT.
• For Rotherham Brought Together (RBT) , the Solutions Architect for - Services for Public Access Service & Single Business Account (SBA)
• For Liverpool Direct Limited – the Solutions Architect for the Finance Service.
Steve’s professional qualifications include DMS in Business Studies, and MSc in Information Systems and he actively maintains his professional development by lecturing at the University of Hertfordshire, and collaborating with Cambridge and Cranfield Universities. Steve has strong supplier and partner management skills which have been put to effective use establishing working arrangements with a number of new suppliers and partners to address business needs in the public sector.
Outside of work Steve is a keen golfer, sailor, racquetball player and enjoys family life in Ware, Hertfordshire.
