Richard Gigg
Business Coach and Mentor
If you are not sure where you are going with your business or life in general then I can help you get clarity and perspective. Based upon my experience over the last 35 years as a soldier and businessman I am happy to give back to those people who need help.
If you need some free advice or just want to bounce ideas drop me a line.
2008 - 2008Following on from a successful military career, my background originates in the service sector progressing to responsibility for a European wide implementation department for a well known equipment manufacturer. I then went on to manage the professional services team for Equant and the UK Consultancy practice for Unisys primarily based on Cisco and Microsoft consulting. For the four years I ran a number of companies for a group of institutional investors including a Network Solutions company and Managed Services company aimed at the SME market. I then spent four years as Sales and Marketing Director for an Independent IT Consultancy company servicing the mid market.
After 20 years in the IT business I now utilise all my skills, experience and knowledge as a business coach with Shirlaws UK Ltd and as an independent business mentor and NED to small businesses in the local area under 6P Ltd.
Shirlaws
Irrespective of the product or service a business provides, business issues are all fundamentally the same. This means that we can work with any business, of any size, in any sector. All of our coaching materials and frameworks are Shirlaws' own and we have a full time product team dedicated to developing and refining the product and providing coach support.
6P Ltd (6P stands for Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance)
Many small, growing businesses are recognising the increase in growth which can result from appointing a Mentor or NED. Through my experience of sales growth, business coaching, joint ventures, team building, company acquisition and overall business connections.
I help any small business get off the ground and realise the owners dreams.
What is a mentor
A successful, growing business brings new challenges such as hiring new staff, raising new capital and entering new markets. A mentor can offer helpful advice, caution against potential pitfalls and instill confidence in your plans.
Mentors are coaches, not consultants, and do not take the place of accountants, lawyers or bank managers. Having a mentor won’t automatically fix all your business challenges. A mentor can help you set goals and milestones as well make you accountable for delivering on them.
