Gets clients noticed, online and in the media to drive business forward.

Most clients are B2B, often in financial or professional services, or technology. All are ambitious: looking for experienced PR and business support online and with the media. They don't want to be fobbed off with junior account managers or charged a fortune for a director.

Author of "DIYPR - the small business owner's guide to 'free' publicity" (pub: Batsford 1998)and currently piloting Publicity Clubs: groups of 6-8 business owners sharing the consultancy and PR investment to create and drive four 90-day Action Plans to boost their businesses significantly over a year.

Founder of PHPR Ltd which offers experienced on and offline PR and marketing, including social media. I have been online since 1985 when I handled the PR for the launch of the world's first online bank (Home & Office Banking - HOBS).

I bring around 30 years PR and marketing expertise. My husband, the broadcaster, David Calder adds intelligent online video and communications skills training to our mix, including crisis PR training.

I am passionate about getting clients noticed online and offline, with PR, marketing and social media.

Background:
I learned how large companies operate by working inside Bank of Scotland for 13 years and helped launch the bank's international branches in the US, Hong Kong and Russia.

Founded my own PR business in 1986 (which incorporated in 1999 as PHPR Ltd) to generate buzz for clients - mainly B2B businesses, including PLCs like Barclays bank and BT, plus lots of ambitious fast-growing IT and technical enterprises.

I also wrote a personal finance column for IPC magazines for 10 years and wrote for the Sunday Times and edited/contributed to various business magazines.

I wrote the best-selling* business book: 'DIY PR, the small business owner's guide to 'free' publicity' in 1998 (Pub Batsford, paperback, 5-star Amazon rating).
* based on publisher-supplied independent bookshop figures

Client experience is mainly B2B, finance and IT, plus food and hospitality.

In addition to media relations and online PR we also offer (with my broadcaster husband) online video, plus crisis and advanced media training.

I run DIY PR courses for business organisations and clubs, with DIY PR support services and coaching.

Plus "The Right Name" service - when you get stuck for an available name for a new venture or product (especially now that there is only one of each name on social media, unlike domain names which can carry a variety of suffixes).
