Olivier Pippi
Senior Reservoir Engineer - Arctic Norway, Statoil ASA
Reservoir Engineer with almost 7 years of outstanding international oil and gas experience with super majors: Statoil ASA, BP, ExxonMobil, and Total SA.
Highly educated and driven professional who was trained and worked on high impact projects in the North Sea, North and West Africa, Norwegian Sea and in the Arctic regions. Has a proven track record of very successful business delivery for complex projects, under high pressure and challenging environments.
Specialities:
Stochastic and multi-scenario risk and uncertainty analysis for field development planning and infill prospect evaluation.
Manual and assisted history matching - with use of 4D seismic data.
Identification of infill drilling prospects , and well interventions for production optimisation.
Classical reservoir engineering - analytical and mass balance techniques, integration of PVT, MDT, geochemistry and relative permeabilities data. Well-test interpretation coupled with reservoir simulation for detailed reservoir characterisation.
• Senior Reservoir/Petroleum Engineer for Norne Satellites fields
Lead Reservoir Engineer for all subsurface and production optimisation activities for Svale and Stær fields (PL128) and Alve field (PL159). Includes identification and progression of infill targets, reservoir models re-builds or updates, data acquisition programs and wells interventions planning, RNB reporting, and screening of EOR measures (surfactants flooding and water divergents).
Delivered a study for the selection of optimum downhole flow control technology to maximise the performance of a water injector drilled in 2011. Implemented optimisation of water injection strategy (PWRI during scale squeezes to avoid injection shutdown), and doubled oil production from well following successful workover identified by production data analysis and PLT. Currently progressing one infill target to be drilled in 2012 and requiring simulation model update, uncertainty analysis (parametric and stochastic: Monte-Carlo and Experimental Design), NPV calculations, “smart” completions design and optimisations, and well planning.
• Senior Reservoir Engineer / Subsurface Lead for “Svale North Fast-Track Project”
Subsurface Lead for the subsea tie-in of an additional structure under “fast-track” schedule to the Norne FPSO, and requiring full subsurface definition, simulation model building, feasibility studies, field development planning, “smart” wells solutions modelling and selection, detailed full risk and uncertainty analysis. All modelling performed under Petrel RE. Also responsible for supervision and QA/QC of all the geomodelling work under RMS. Exploration well to be drilled in 2012.
• Reservoir Engineering Advisor to Fossekall & Dompap fields (“Skuld Fast-Track Project”)
Delivered the integrated reservoir description and characterisation of each field including: MDT pressures analysis, geochemical and fluid data interpretations, SCAL and pressure transient analysis. Identified the vertical and lateral reservoir connectivity and segmentation of the fields, in order to optimise the development plans (wells count, location, design, and planning) of this first “Statoil fast-track” project North of the Arctic Polar Circle. First oil planned in 2013.
• Reservoir Engineering Advisor to Skrugard and Havis fields (Barents Sea)
Currently completing the integrated reservoir description and characterisation of each field.
Supervisor and coordinator of the full SCAL study for the fields, involving steady-state measurements at reservoir conditions on preserved and wettability-restored cores, centrifuge derived residual saturations and capillary pressure curves. Currently performing the detailed analysis on the impact of wettability and rock-typing on relative permeability measurements. Identified various improvements to the previous coring fluids selected and measurements performed to be implemented to the rest of the extensive SCAL program (future exploration and appraisal wells).
