Having graduated in 2005 with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Bristol University, I joined a niche purchasing consultancy where I learned a number of valuable skills in supply chain management, procurement and cost reduction.
Using these skills and knowledge, I helped to jointly found Market Dojo, with the aim of creating an intuitive yet professional web solution that would enable many more companies to generate success from conducting their own e-Sourcing events.
Furthermore we offer our solution at a transparent price level to reflect the honest and collaborative ethos that we maintain with our clients.
2008 - 2010Essentially a Purchasing Consultant focussing on e-procurement, supply chain risk and cost reduction / avoidance.
Responsibilities include delivering cost and risk reduction projects and programmes on behalf of our clients. The projects I have worked on have ranged in value from £200k per annum up to £20 million per annum for businesses within the automotive, aerospace, oil and gas and construction industries amongst others.
I also have experience of category management; identifying, prioritising and delivering a series of cost reduction projects on behalf of our clients for over several hundred million pounds of spend.
Other roles include writing and implementing contractual documentation, defining RFx packages, managing and delivering reverse auctions, managing the global supplier sourcing teams, analysing quotations, supporting clients on supplier visits and audits, and supporting the development of Vendigital's new tools and services.
2006 - 2008Globally sourcing and then managing the suppliers, to motivate them to quote for the contracts we tender online. An essential role to ensure the very best suppliers are found for the particular commodity or service that is required. This enables the optimal cost reduction results for our clients.
