What IS readability?
I'm passionate (some say pedantic) about words and using them to make the message crystal clear and compelling. However, I've discovered that having killer copy isn't enough - it's the way that it's presented that is at least as important. If you get that wrong people CAN'T read it.
That can mean it's in the wrong place, has a background colour that interferes with the text, is laid out in a way that makes reading hard work, there's something else on the page distracting attention or that your key messages simply aren't where people are looking. I work with designers a lot to overcome these drawbacks.
With a background in management training in communication skills I also work with companies on communication strategy to ensure that internal and external communication is really getting them the best possible results.
That means that the staff know why they're doing what they're doing and can make better quality decisions about prioritising work and are much more customer focused - simply by getting the right message to them in a way they can understand.
With the written word I work on joined-up marketing campaign using your website, social media, (blogs, Twitter, etc), free knowledge sharing, autoresponders, flyers and both direct and email marketing campaigns.
