    Managing/Technical Director

    Clarion Call New Media Ltd

Project management & development of advanced new media content and Web applications

EXAMPLE PROJECT - 3D image library for E-commerce applications
As the principal of Clarion Call New Media, I travelled to Germany to negotiate rights to provide an advanced 3D scanning technology developed by the University of Hanover, called OpenSPX. The system used digital photos of an object to generate a wire-frame, to which a bitmapped image was rendered. Software was used to output the resultant image to be viewed using a Java applet or a Netscape plug-in. We identified our likely target market, and then approached their heads of marketing and of technology departments with an online demo that we could talk them through over the phone.

About him

After working within the electrical/electronic engineering field until 1999, I moved over to the Internet industry in 1999, running my own new media company initially, and later providing consultancy services as a project/programme manager.

I've worked on all manner of projects from multinational sites to implementations for SMEs.

I am PRINCE2 accredited to practitioner level, but also favour collaborative approaches where appropriate such as Agile & Scrum.

Current project emphasis is upon open source applications such as Magento and various open source content management system driven sites and site integrations.
