Tyco Fire and Security are a supplier of fire and gas safety systems, security systems and fire suppression systems into the commerical, industrial and marine environments. It has offices all over the UK as well as Scandinavia and the Middle East.

I work as an Operational Excellence Consultant working for the corporate function to help the company systems to be more efficient and effective so tat risk is reduced, cost reduced and EBIT increased. As well as working as a Project Manager on multi-faceted corporate projects, I am undertaking training as a Six Sigma Black Belt, having already completed my Green Belt training.

My projects are either hard or soft, in that they either contribute to the bottom line or provide quality / risk reduction benefits.

Responsible for multiple Project Managers and also for the P+L of the department. We specialised in providing bespoke industrial IT and control solutions to industry. Industries supported were nuclear, utilities and petroleum. Contract sizes ranged from £50K to £17,000K

Thurnall provided bespoke computer control and robotic systems into the Nuclear industry. It also developed, integrated and installed Manufacturing Execution Systems ( MES ) into a number of industries including paper, chemical and data processing, including the new passport printing operation in the Northwest of England.

I was Operations Manager and was responisble for all aspects of the CIM operation and projects including client contact, contract negotiation, recruitment and supporting the business development team
