Kerry Belshaw
Translator for Business
I have a keen interest in languages for business, technology developments and the role of the internet in our society.
I was responsible for building the new school website in two languages, French and English. I translated key documents for the school’s database and performed on-the-spot interpreting to assist communication between parties. I also initiated marketing projects to produce a variety of promotional material: a brochure in four languages, the Agents Manual, a summer activity programme and teenage handbook.
I translated identity documents and attainment certificates, and I was in charge of library resources, enrolments and verifying/updating member data. I also served and greeted clients, dealt with enquiries, telephone and e-mail correspondence.
Under the Reward and Recognition scheme, I received a reward for my ‘exceptional and invaluable help to the Post Court Team’.
I undertook a variety of administrative duties: used a unique Libra system to record court papers, issued and processed court orders, verified and extracted files, provided essential documents for Crown Court trials and drafted letters to the required legal standard.
I communicated with the public, including when on duty at court proceedings and assisted members of the legal profession and judiciary.
