I am fully accountable for the company’s P&L, ensuring all commercial and financial targets are achieved. My responsibilities also include the creation, leadership and management of a team that drives and supports revenue generation, customer loyalty and the development of staff potential.
2005 - 2007From June 2005 and up to January 2007, I was recruited to become the General Manager for Alan Dick & Company SA, based in Cameroon, where I was responsible for the development and management of the Central African structure and the implementation of the Group strategies and objectives. My main duties included:
- Full P&L accountability;
- Managing the achievement of sales targets and revenues in the region;
- Building and maintaining relationships in the business community;
- Building and maintaining relationships with the Regulatory Body;
- Budget Management.
1996 - 2002Responsible for all sales activities in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, selling primarily complex solutions to telecommunications service providers, either directly or via channel partners. I managed a culturally and geographically diverse sales and marketing team of 65 people.
1994 - 1996Responsible for establishing the company’s presence in the European financial marketplaces, selling a wide range of telecommunications services to City institutions. I was also heavily involved in the creation of Global One, the joint venture between France Telecom, Deutsche Telecom and Sprint of the USA.
1990 - 1994Responsible for the sales of satellite-based services to telecommunications service providers and multinational companies from all sectors of the industry.
For a period of 2 years, I was seconded to set up BT’s operations in Spain and launch a range of products and services targeted mainly at financial institutions in Spain, France and Portugal. I was directly responsible for implementing a number of strategic alliances, increasing sales and contribution levels by 200% in less than 2 years.
1987 - 1990Sales Support Manager, Micrognosis International (division of Control Data)
Responsible for providing technical and commercial support to customers, as well as to the company’s sales and marketing teams in Europe. I also managed the training department and played an active part in the product development group, defining the strategic path for the company products and services.
1986 - 1987Responsible for providing technical support to Linotype’s network of dealers and distributors world-wide on the company’s desktop publishing systems.
1981 - 1983Responsible for the provision of a wide range of exploration and production services to the oil industry, using state-of-the-art technologies.
1978 - 1981Whilst studying for my BSc degree, I was granted a Teaching Assistantship by the Faculty of Mathematics and Engineering to provide tutoring and mentoring services to undergraduate students.
