John Crawley
Founder and Chair, CMP Resolutions
I am a mediation trainer, author and founder and chair of a large independent dispute resolution provider.I believe in dialogue through adversity and in building trust and rapport through diversity in all walks of life. For 20 plus years I've been endeavouring to get people at work, in families, communities and different cultures to resolve conflict without escalating it to aggression and violence. I've get a buzz presenting to large groups, facilitating interactive workshops and devising new learning materials. My publications include Constructive Conflict Management and Mediation for Managers (both published in the UK by Nicholas Brealey Books), and I was subject expert some while ago on a BBC worldwide video 'What's the Problem - Resolving Conflict at Work.
I started in work as a youth and community worker, have sold second hand records for a living, and done wedding photography. I ran a neighbourhood mediation charity in east London before setting up my current company CMP Resolutions.
I have advised many public sector and private companies in how to deal with conflict at work, design dispute resolution systems, and most recently measure and reduce the cost of conflict at work.
