As a free-lance Industrial Designer I have unusually a great deal of Mechanical Engineering experience alongside creative product design skills.
As a consultant I can enjoy working "full life-cycle" on products, and thus this allows me to utilise skills in Conceptions, Visualisations, Animation, Injection Moulding Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Finite Element Analysis and working on more complex design issues. My customers have come to realise that I can overcome challenges that can stump more specialism focused design product development agencies.
I enjoy Scuba Diving, and qualified as Advanced Open Water level. I also have a close relationship with Educational Services and enjoy teaching Engineering and design at local schools and have introduced some exciting micro-controller based projects and am working to build links between schools and businesses.

2004 - 2006Regional Account Manager undertaking training at SolidWorks headquarters, Boston Massachusetts. Elements of my role include visiting clients, product sales, demonstrations, technical support, and consultancy work for the fastest growing SolidWorks re-seller in the UK. Creating quotations, providing value propositions to potential clients, securing individual orders for capital expenditure in excess of GBP24,000 providing CIM solutions to improve productivity
2002 - 2004Industrial Design Engineer for Finnish multinational producing digital architectural lighting products. Responsible for designing consumer and industrial products. Handling projects to manufacture, projects included consumer enclosures, control interfaces used on the QM2, design of LCD touch-screen panels, POS equipment, visiting trade shows and design for worldwide markets.
2001 - 2002Design of domestic appliances specialising in the leisure industry. Worked on prototyping, machining, testing and workshop machinery. Gained experience of production processes and automation Worked on designs using SolidWorks.
2000 - 2001Invited to work at Lego and as a Concept researcher after graduation with other 1st class students selected from around the world. Worked on toy design concepts, producing ideas, conducting research, learned much about design environment and how the conceptual development process takes place in this large company.
