I have delivered education and training across multiple sectors over the last 11 years, with three years experience of delivering Chartered Management Institute and ILM qualifications from Team Leader level through to Level 5, and am currently writing Level 7 distance learning materials for my company.
I started Open Waters 3 years ago, initially providing bespoke training and short courses. Demand from my clients led me to change direction and I successfully achieved Approved Centre status with the Chartered Management Institute around 18 months ago, offering the Level 5 suite of qualifications. In January this year I progressed this further to achieve additional Approval and now offer 24 CMI qualifications via Distance Learning. Open Waters portfolio now offers all of the generic qualifications: NVQs, Introductory Awards, Certificates and Diplomas, as well as an extensive range of specialist management qualifications and has just expanded into the International market. All of this has been driven by myself, and I have recently taken on a previous client, who then became an associate, as my business partner.
My experience spans Military, FE, Regeneration, Accountancy, Ports & Logistics, Justice Sector, Local Authority, Community and third sector, Blue-chip, as well as other private training providers as an associate.

In 2006 I achieved Approved Centre status for Open Waters with the Chartered Management Institute, offering 3 of their highly regarded management qualifications. I have now developed that Approval further to be able to offer 24 qualifications in total, including generic and specialist qualifications. I have developed a small but very well qualified team of associates to enable the effective delivery of these qualifications. I have since won a contract with a Justice Sector organisation to deliver the Diploma in Management to their senior managers. I have been successful in winnning competitive tenders with the local authority to deliver a Bespoke programme in Internal Consultancy Skills, and work in partnership with other local providers to deliver business start-up advice and support to women, and to young people. 2001 - 2003This was a diverse role working in Urban Regeneration. Projects in my portfolio were the UK Online Centre, Computer Build, Wired up Community, Community Learning Advisors and Trainee Web Designers. Within this role I was responsible for budgets amounting to £300k, coming from multiple funding streams. This required accurate and timely reporting to local funding providers and Government Office, managing procurment of PC components and PCs throught the OJEU, strategic representation of the organisation on city wide partnerships, managing staff - some remotely based, customer service management, facilities management and partnership working with other local providers. In 2002 I entered the UK Online Centre for the Best UK Online Centre Awards Yorkshire and the Humber, which we achieved successfully just two months after the centre opened.
