Managing Director, Magna Logistics
I tend to treat business as a hobby, you may consider it sad but when it comes down to it, it is a strong interest for me; the opportunities to learn something new are always on the horizon, and whilst expanding my abilities with the knowledge I gain every day, it also bears a resemblance to supporting your favourite football team; all the ups and downs that each challenge creates, it really is a constant boost of adrenilin when you know that this, effectively is your team.
Aside from business I enjoy walking, which of course is hindered by the fact that the wife, however, does not. Whilst I would rather like to spend some time away on some variety of walking holiday, it would be much more enjoyable if there were someone else to participate, so ultimately I don't go. This leaves me the only option to enjoy this hobby when walking the dog, and whilst I do get some enjoyment out of it, it isn't quite the same as a full day of walking. So once I am home from my walk (that was far too short for my liking) I often end up driving anyway, as I can be sure that my son wants a lift to some random location.
In order to relax I, like many of us do, retire to the local pub on occasion where I participate in a friendly drink, and more often than not small banter and battles of wit with my fellow men. It is always a good night out when you have the opportunity for a laugh, and down at my local there is always an opportunity for that. Of course I like a beer, Tim Taylors Landlord would be my favourite, unfortunately due to it's infrequent visits in this neck of the woods, it is a rarity, though I suppose that makes it all the better when it is here.
I enjoy travel, yet since I have a great deal of responsibilities here, I don't get to go away nearly as much as I would like. I do, however travel once or twice a year out to mexico, where a good friend and business associate lives, whilst generally it is to do with business it isn't all work and no play. I wouldn't mind moving there one day, but I would most definately have to arrange the building of a brewery first!
