2008 - 2011• Manage global, strategic and high volume (over 1 million vehicles a year) programs:
Direct development process to ensure product performance requirements, timing, cost and quality targets are met. Team work with Program Manager. Lead interface with customer program management, engineering and quality teams.
2009: Successful launch of 8 profitable programs in the US, China, Germany and Brazil.
• Supervise a group of 4 project engineers: each responsible for new products development, validation and release (control arms, knuckles, braking systems, bearings, rubber components, and ball joints). Define tasks, set priorities, and verify that personal and organizational objectives are met.
• Responsible for problem solving activities: Lead engineering group that supports the quality department to determine root cause and corrective action of major engineering issues that occur during or after production launch. Experience with several high risk situations and vehicle recalls.
• Manage corporate technical knowledge: Track new developments and innovations, major design, manufacturing and quality issues within the company and lead the engineering team to share and present the subject matter during internal training sessions.
• Active member of business development: Oversee supplier technical evaluation and qualification process, benchmarking and re-sourcing activities
Lead engineering group to develop innovative, robust, and cost efficient technical solutions. Travel to Asia, Europe, North and South America to present technical and commercial offers to customers.
2009: 3 programs awarded and 1 major car manufacturer added to the customer base.
2005 - 2008• Responsible for program engineering from first concept to production launch:
Drove and approved the design (DFMEA, feasibility studies, FEA, prints and GD&T, engineering specifications, APQP), validation and release of safety critical components.
Successfully developed and implemented design best practices to improve product performance and manufacturability, reduce cost and ensure safe production launch.
2008: Successful launch of a global multi-component program (over 1 million vehicles produced per year worldwide) after 2.5 years of development with 10 suppliers across the globe.
• Led technical interface with customer and supplier engineering teams:
Design release engineer in direct contact with Ford, GM, Chrysler, Nissan, PSA, Renault, BMW and Tier 1 suppliers.
2004 - 2004• Conducted Ride and Handling evaluation activities for PSA Peugeot Citroën and Renault:
Instrumentation of test vehicles including design and manufacturing of various sensor mounts.
Data acquisition on test tracks, analysis of vehicle dynamics and report to customer.
