DARRELL KOFKIN
Chief Executive, Global Marketing Network
Darrell began his career in marketing management with London Underground becoming its youngest ever marketing manager at the age of 24. He joined InterCity as Marketing Planning Manager in 1997 implementing innovative new ticketing products and leading major research projects before entering a career in professional education and development.
In 2002 he was instrumental in founding and developing a private marketing training school in London and successfully sold his equity stake in 2005 for 67 times his initial investment.
He then co-founded Global Marketing Network in 2006 and has been its Chief Executive since then, leading its development and global expansion.
Global Marketing Network is the Global Accreditation Body for Marketing and Business Professionals. Its vision is for a strong, unified and respected Marketing Profession, worldwide, achieved through the raising of standards within it.
To achieve this, GMN has adopted four global strategic programmes:
1. Realising the aspirations of Marketing Professionals;
2. Raising standards in marketing practice
3. Putting Marketing Professionals back in the Boardroom;
4. Supporting today’s Marketing Professionals around the world.
These ambitious programmes are being developed and delivered through the collaboration and support of a great many long-established, highly successful and world-class players, both individuals and organisations, from both academia and business.
Darrell speaks and lectures regularly and writes on the subject of global marketing strategy. Alongside his role as Chief Executive of Global Marketing Network he supervises a number of MBA and Masters dissertation students each year.
He has written two textbooks aimed at Postgraduate/Masters level Marketing students, 'Developing Global Marketing Strategy' (BPP, 2010) and 'Aligning the Organisation to the Vision' (BPP, 2010).

1997 - 1999Deleivered marketing courses and oversaw the development of CIM programmes
Oversaw the research and development of new products, making recommendations to the Marketing Director and the Midland Mainline Board
1990 - 1994Starting as a Graduate went on to developed and implement the marketing plan for the Central Line as its youngest ever marketing manager,reporting directly into the General Manager.
