The Refugee Council is the largest organisation in the UK working with asylum seekers and refugees. We not only give direct help and support, but also work with asylum seekers and refugees to ensure their needs and concerns are addressed. Currently employing in excess of 300 staff and 300 Volunteers, The Refugee Council is funded by local, central and European government grants, grants from trust funds and corporations and funds provided by individuals through one-off donations, standing orders arrangements, legacies and their attendance at Refugee Council events.

Key Achievements:
•Creates, issues and advises on all contractual issues across the organisation
•Advises on and carries out small scale restructures
•Supports the Employee Resourcing Manager on larger scale restructures

•Acts as the key contact for the organisations outsourced payroll provider
•Develops HR, recruitment and payroll databases in line with changes in organizational restructures and software upgrades
•Provides accurate and good quality management information from HR databases to a range of audiences through regular and ad hoc reports
•Manages the implementation of annual pay awards in relation to staff eligibility and production of comprehensive information
•Monitors all CRBs within the organization, ensuring compliance
•Manages various projects such as the implantation of Child care vouchers

Currently employing some 660 branch and head office staff plus approximately 7000 field workers the Human Resources department ensures that every element of maintaining such a huge workforce complies with all current legislation whilst at the same time promoting the ever changing needs of the company.

•Recruited a mix of 70 Branch managers and co-coordinators in 12 months.
•Actively reduced the cost of hires by 70% through utilising direct recruitment methods
