I am a native French speaker from Strasbourg (France) but I have been living in various parts of the UK for almost nine years. I am currently based in the Greater Manchester area, where I completed a Master of Arts in Interpreting and Translating (English and French). The services I offer include freelance conference and public service interpreting (French <> English), translation (English > French) and proofreading (French > French).

I started working as a public services interpreter in 2003, when I joined the team of freelancers at the City Council of Nottingham. Since then, I have also completed many conference interpreting assignments both nationally and internationally (e.g. UK, France, Senegal, Mali, Denmark) and have developed confidence in and knowledge of fields such as for example the environment and sustainable development (e.g. agriculture, transport), arts (e.g. video games, cinema) and more generally African and European issues (e.g. journalism, finance).

For my translation work (including subtitling), I have completed projects related to topics such as marketing, housing and community, finance as well as health and safety amongst others. Moreover, I have experience of proofreading technical translations, mainly regarding manufacturing and cosmetics.

I graduated from the Nottingham Trent University (UK) with a 2:1 BA Hons in 'English with French' (mainly entailing Literature, Linguistics and History). I then went on to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (in Modern Foreign Languages: French and German) and worked as a secondary school teacher of French and Spanish for one year in London, before deciding to study and practise Interpreting and Translating at postgraduate level (MA, University of Salford, UK).
