I am an experienced Lawyer providing risk management and legal advice in all areas to corporate clients’ businesses across the world. With broad international experience across EMEA and AJP, in areas as diverse as the creation, negotiation and management of contractual and non-contractual documentation, advice to directors and senior management on all commercial opportunities, contentious and non-contentious issues, set-up and management of corporate entities (both domestic and foreign) and external advisors and counsel. I supply pragmatic advice and organisation of banking, finance and other corporate matters including regulatory and non-regulatory compliance that may affect my client's business. 2006 - 2008Managing risk and legal compliance across 35 countries. Commercial contracts, banking, intellectual property, commerial property, negotiation and government liaison as well as corporate compliance; including I instructing, managing and co-ordinating external legal advisors throughout the world. Direct liaison with senior management and directors across all levels of the business.
2004 - 2006Generalist role as fee earner managing own substantial caseload including standard and bespoke contract creation (SLA, MSA, licensing, commercial leases, guarantee, agency and sale and franchise agreements), Management of civil litigation and mediation meetings (Partnership, contract, and IP disputes), M & A, employment law (representation at ET, drafting directors contracts, disciplinary/grievance procedures, advising on redundancy and unfair dismissal) and marketing and networking for the firm generating significant new business.
2002 - 2002June 2002 – August 2002 ( 3 months)
Undertook litigation partner's workload over three months. Managed the litgation caseload for the niche firm, including breach of contract, civil fraud and representation at court amoung other matters.
2001 - 2003• Sole charge of the English Contract Law course.
• Responsibility for the annual budget – legal resources.
• Represented the University at meetings with UK sponsor Universities.
• Successfully marketed the course to prospective Universities, students, and other academic institutions.
1998 - 1999Primarily litigation (pre and post Woolf), assisted senior lawyers with high value & high profile claims, Managed IP for Vodafone group worldwide, part of M&A panel for $65 Billion acquisition. Managed own caseload of mid value disputes, drafting Statements of case, Defences, witness statements, consent orders, settlement agreements and confidentiality agreements, negotiated settlements.
In addition:
Advice to Company directors and the Board on merits, evidence and quantum;
Training to groups of internal clients on aspects of litigation procedure and risk management;
Dealt with ad hoc legal complaints and enquiries from the general public and from other Vodafone group companies.
